Sprinklesmobile – the refrigerated van delivering cupcakes across Southern California
A Southern Californian institution, Sprinkles Cupcakes taste amazing and because of this their shops usually have queues out the door. As automotive journalists are usually a hungry lot and also fans of anything that is free, Sprinkles Cupcakes have teamed up with West Coast Customs and Mercedes Benz to create the “Sprinklesmobile” which is a refrigerated Mercedes Sprinter van that is turned into a cupcake delivery van. The refrigerated Mercedes Sprinter van provides a solid cupcake-selling platform as well as a rolling billboard.
The Sprinkles Architect, Andrea Lendardin, worked with West Coast Customs to create this mobile treat delivery machine. The Refrigerated Mercedes Sprinter Van is powered by a 2,800-watt electric generator and can hold up to 1,500 cupcakes. Behind the passenger door is a window with a till and a power-operated awning covers the display area. It’s also very economical getting around 22 miles per gallon.
