fridge freezer vans

FAQs

A fridge van conversion can take up from 7 to 10 days from the vehicle arriving at our manufacturing premises. Depending on manufacturing and stock availability it is possible to carry out a conversion in a shorter period. Please speak to our sales team to find out more.

Our refrigerated vehicles can work from +21°C to -25°C depending on the refrigeration unit specified and the requirements of the produce being carried.

In a refrigerated vehicle the insulated lining kit will be based on 50mm for a chiller van and 75mm for a freezer van.

Overnight standby is an electrical plug-in extra facility which enables a fridge van to operate when the vehicle engine is switched off. This facility needs to be specified from the start as it cannot be added after a fridge van conversion is completed.

We can provide a range of useful accessories which can designed to incorporate within a fridge van conversion to match customer requirements exactly. This includes a selection of shelving options, whether fixed or foldable.

It is possible to source the complete package with the commercial van and the conversion. When ordering the complete package from us a selection of finance options is also available to assist with the purchase.

We work with industry-leading manufacturers of refrigeration units, which can also provide an under-bonnet option for the unit. Please talk to our sales team to find out more, as it does depend on the make and model of the commercial van in question.

Payload on a fridge van details the maximum weight the van can carry, also taking into consideration the weight of a driver. Each make and model of vans will vary in payload. Also, whether you require a chiller van or freezer van can affect the payload capabilities. Please speak to our sales team about your requirements and they will be able to recommend the best make and model of commercial van to match your business needs.

We offer a 12 months’ warranty on the refrigeration units provided with the conversion.

To help improve air quality, an Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will be in place in central London from 8 April 2019. Most vehicles including cars and vans will need to meet new, tighter exhaust emission standards (ULEZ standards) or pay a daily charge to travel within the area of the ULEZ.

For more information take a look at our guide the the London ULEZ.
